Our Sevenoaks Academy will give you the confidence to become a successful learner through a range of exciting opportunities. You will develop a personalised learning journey as one of our unique pathways. When you complete the requirements of the Academy you will have the skills, knowledge and competencies to continue into your future career.
LEARNING
How you learn is important. We will explore this with you during the enrolment process with individual counselling and support to ensure that you reach your potential.
YOUNG ADULT ETHOS
You will learn in a flexible environment with respectful adult relationships between staff and students. We will support you to become a confident, independent young adult. Your school day will run from 8:40am – 1:00pm.
FIND YOUR FUTURE
We will plan your future pathway with you and ensure that it meets your aspirations. Whilst you will be with the Academy, you can also enrol in courses offered to all students.
WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING
Our work integrated learning will prepare you for future employment, training or further studies.
You will:
- Enrol in and complete in AQF Certificate course
- Complete at least one endorsed ASDAN short course certificate to develop skills for learning, work and life, with practical and accessible pedagogy.
- Explore the opportunity to fast-track to a TAFE Course of your choosing once the Certificate II General Education for Adults is achieved
- Participate in ADWPL or Work-Experience
- Complete Micro-credentials, for example – White card, First Aid, Passport to Success, Barista, Responsible Service of Alcohol
- Access to try-a-trade
- Explore work and training opportunities through regular excursions
- Develop a Career Portfolio of your achievements
ENGAGING WITH COMMUNITY
You will be a part of our unique community and we will encourage you to:
- Seek part-time/casual employment
- Attend whole school special events
- Volunteer and participate in Academy programs
