Passport to Success

The Passport to Success is an industry developed micro-credential which is being provided to Sevenoaks Senior College students by Cummins South Pacific.

Passport to Success is a suite of products and services proven to foster in-demand ‘life skills’ or ‘soft skills’ that young people need to truly succeed from home to school to work and their future career.

All students will participate in activities selected from Passport to Success units targeting their pathway needs such as:

  • Personal competencies
  • Problem solving
  • Managing conflict
  • Effective work habits, and
  • Skills for professional growth.

White Card

To be able to carry out construction work, a person must complete an introductory safety training course – general construction induction training which is commonly known as ‘white card’ training.

Assessment requirements for white card training are defined in CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry. When a student completes their White Card they will gain this unit of competency.

First Aid Course

First Aid is extremely important in all careers and in life generally. Sevenoaks supports students to complete a First Aid Course which includes the unit of competency HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid.

The first aid course is either delivered:

  • as part a student’s pathway certificate, or
  • as a standalone micro-credential.

Café Culture

Students can start their journey to becoming a Barista. A Barista is a skilled coffee maker in cafes and restaurants.

Sevenoaks offers this micro-credential for students who are interested in gaining part-time or casual work in the hospitality area, especially cafes or similar. Many students complete this course to be able to gain a job while studying.

In this micro-credential students learn the following units of competency and have lots of practice making coffees.

  • SITHFAB025 – Prepare and serve espresso coffee
  • SITXFSA005 – Use hygienic practices for food safety

TAFE Skills Set

Metropolitan TAFEs offer a variety of Skills Sets located on TAFE campuses. These are announced annually, and Sevenoaks Senior College students are encouraged to apply for these programs where they fit with their chosen pathway studies at Sevenoaks Senior College.

These Skills Sets are announced through year group notices.
