Our new million-dollar STEM room, opened in 2024, is based on a 21st century design which combines elements of a workshop, classroom and a makerspace in one room.
The new area features state of the art equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers and CNC lathes, which are all automated machines interfaced with the SolidWorks CAD software. SolidWorks is an industry, TAFE and University recognised software, ensuring smooth transition for students between school and further education and training.
The worktables in the workshop are able to be easily packed and stored away to allow space for testing projects and to build and test large robots. The desk tabletops are also writable, designed for students to sketch and do calculations straight onto the desk, and then wiped away.
The computers in the STEM centre have been custom purchased to provide an optimal learning experience for our students. The room also features a large storage space for machines and consumables to prepare students for a new workforce.
