Attention parents, guardians and caregivers,
Next week, on Wednesday 30 July, Sevenoaks Senior College is transitioning to a new system. This means all Attendance SMS messages will now come from a new contact called “SSC”.
The new system will notify parents, guardians, and caregivers of unexplained absences or late arrivals.
What will change?
The new system starts on Wednesday 30/07/2025 (Week 2, Term 3). It will send you an SMS on your mobile phone when your child is marked absent without an explanation.
Please delete the old Absentee SMS number (0407 473 704) to avoid confusion. From next Wednesday, you will no longer be able to use this number to communicate with the school.
There is a sample message below. You will get this SMS with the link if your child is marked absent without an explanation. You should use this link to add attendance notes about your child’s absence. Please note that the link will be valid for only 48 hours. Do not reply to this message via SMS as the school will not receive it. The school will receive your response via the link provided. Ensure the phone is connected to an Internet data plan or has WIFI access to use the hyperlink.
If your child is absent again without a prior explanation, parents will get a new one-time link.
If you do not use the link provided, you can notify the school of your child’s absence via telephone at (08) 6235 7200 or email at sevenoaks.sc.admin@education.wa.edu.au.
If you have any other questions regarding Attendance SMS Communications, please call us during business hours.
