Our motto at Sevenoaks is “Find Your Future” and we have a number of support systems in place to help you navigate your final two years of schooling. We are here to ensure you are well prepared to confidently move into the workforce, or onto further training.
If you are not sure of the exact career you want to follow, start with the Career Quiz on the Your Career page. Your Career can help you make decisions about study and training, your first job, or the next step in your career. Explore careers that interest you to learn about their future outlook, pay, main tasks, physical and other demands. Find out about the skills, knowledge and abilities you may need. Get ideas for careers you can aim for now or in the future. Follow links to job vacancies and related courses.
We also encourage you to check out MyFuture, a great online tool which provides resources to explore career pathways and tools to develop self-knowledge to help with career decision-making.
At SSC we have a dedicated Careers Advisor to help students navigate their post-school pathways. Students can book one-to-one sessions to plan their future goals. Whether their goal is to work or study (or both), students will receive the most up-to-date information from our Careers Advisor, so they can be confident on their journey to achieving their post-school goals.
Our Careers Advisor works with families, student services, workplace learning / VET and Advocates to holistically support students at Sevenoaks. They are also able to help with casual job applications and resume writing, as well as sourcing and applying for scholarships.
All students are added to a Connect Jobs Board, where new casual, part time and contract jobs in the area are posted regularly. A Careers newsletter is also made available to students via Connect and to parents via SchoolSpace periodically. Check them out below
