Business

The Business Administration and Management Industry Pathway is delivered and assessed at Sevenoaks and in a simulated business. Students will have the opportunity to experience different job roles that they might encounter in a business environment.

Business Administration and Management is a dynamic field that equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead, strategise, and make impactful decisions in various industries. These skills are valuable for all workers in modern society and tertiary students wanting to develop software application skills such as Microsoft Office 365 and Canva.

This pathway is one of your first steps toward your chosen career in the Business Administration and Management industry. You may progress to:

  • higher level qualifications which lead to roles in the business field, such as human resources, project management, financial management, small business management, team leader, small business operator, or entrepreneur, or
  • employment as an office assistant, a junior clerk, a junior personal assistant, a receptionist, an administration assistant, a clerical worker or a data entry operator.

In Year 11, students will enrol in:

  • BSB20120 Certificate II in Workplace Skills^ over one year,
  • Business Management and Enterprise (General),
  • an English course,
  • Workplace Learning (ADWPL), and
  • two other courses or a certificate of their choosing.

In Year 12, students will have the opportunity to:

  • continue in the BSB20120 Certificate II in Workplace Skills^, or
  • enrol in the BSB30120 Certificate III in Business^ (dual qualification) if the BSB20120 Certificate II in Workplace Skills^ was completed in Year 11.

^ During 2026, students are enrolled with IVET Institute Pty RTO code: 40548 through a Third-Party Agreement between the RTO and Sevenoaks Senior College.
