The Education Support Pathway is delivered and assessed at Sevenoaks through a simulated workplace and in real workplaces.
This pathway is one of your first steps toward your chosen career in the education industry, you may progress to:
- higher level qualifications, such as a Bachelor of Education (Teaching) or other Degrees, and/or
- move directly into employment in a role assisting teachers and supporting student learning in a range of classroom settings under the guidance of a teacher or other educational professional, e.g. an education assistant, integration aide, preschool aide, kindergarten assistant and school services officer.
In Year 11, students will enrol in:
- 52890WA Certificate II in Community Health and Wellbeing over one year,
- an English course,
- Workplace Learning (ADWPL) to complete compulsory work placement with a relevant industry partner, and
- three other courses or a certificate of their choosing. Aboriginal and Intercultural Studies (General) is recommended.
In Year 12, students will enrol in:
- CHC40225 Certificate IV in School-based Education Support over one year,
- an English course,
- Workplace Learning (ADWPL) to complete compulsory work placement with a relevant industry partner, and
- three other courses of their choosing.
