Thank-you to our students and staff for making 2022 a really successful year. Despite COVID-19 in semester one, we managed to get our activities and programs happening so that all students would take away some very fond memories.

We recently farewelled and celebrated the successes of our 2022 Year 12 students at the Presentation Ceremony held at Curtin Stadium. This important event was attended by over 200 students from Sevenoaks and Cannington Community Education Support Centre, as well as their caregivers, family and special dignitaries. The diverse individual achievements of students were acknowledged at the event, which saw students receive their certificates and awards. We hope that all students felt that we had supported them to ‘find their future’ and that they also come back and see us and share their success stories.

The Clontarf Academy Awards night was also an enjoyable and well-attended occasion which allowed Sevenoaks staff and students’ families, carers and friends to formally acknowledge the many achievements of our Clontarf students.

There were camps this term for Clontarf and Follow the Dream students to celebrate their successes. Workplace Learning continued with students gaining valuable experiences and skills to support them with their future. As all of our newsletters have shown during the year, learning never stops at Sevenoaks whether it is in the classroom or outside in the broader community.

A very special thank-you to all our students for their participation in the year’s events. We have been fortunate at Sevenoaks that our students were able to enjoy significant College milestones such as the School Ball, Sevenoaks’ Got Talent, NAIDOC Week, Book Week, Wellbeing Week and R U OK? Day in 2022. The events highlighted just how important our school community is.

Of course it wouldn’t be Sevenoaks without the amazing efforts of all of our staff, our teachers in the classroom, our student support staff, our lovely front office staff and the wonderful staff who work in classrooms and behind the scenes to ensure the classroom learning environment is the best it can be.

Orientation days in early December provided an excellent opportunity for our 2023 student cohort to get to know Sevenoaks, meet their teachers and peers, and trial their selected courses. It was wonderful to meet you all at the opening assembly and I look forward to seeing you excel during your time with us.

I wish our entire Sevenoaks community a safe and happy holiday season and hope you all enjoy the beginnings of 2023. See you all next year.
